What do a foldable globe, historic movable maps, pop-up books, and contemporary paper engineering have in common? Quite a lot, as it turns out. During a visit to the Berlin State Library, paper engineers, pop-up artists, and library staff came together to explore remarkable collection items, exchange ideas, and dive into the fascinating world of paper mechanics.
From hidden treasures in the Children’s and Young Adult Books Department to unexpected discoveries in the Map Archive, the day was full of conversations, curiosity, and shared expertise.
